Professional Experience

John is a shareholder in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. John’s practice includes the negotiation and documentation of real estate acquisitions and sales, leases, loans and other real estate based transactions. His clients include developers, institutional investors, public entities, private landowners and others.

His litigation experience includes complex real estate, construction, securities and uniform commercial matters. He has prosecuted suits in both state and federal court, involving claims for trespass, nuisance, strict products liability, negligence and potential regulatory violations.

John also has a strong background in environmental torts and hazardous materials compliance and cost recovery. He advises clients, including buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants on hazardous waste issues and assists in the resolution of those issues. John has represented municipalities, including the Cities of Fresno, Modesto, Lodi, Clovis, Reedley, and Dinuba in cases involving groundwater contamination impacting municipal water supplies. He has represented individuals exposed to waterborne toxic substances, including claims arising from improper disposal of toxic wastes and leaking underground storage tanks.
