Practice Areas
Steve is a shareholder in the firm’s Real Estate and Corporate groups.
Steve’s real estate practice includes representation of commercial real estate developers and landowners in the purchase, sale and development of real property. As part of that practice, Steve is involved in negotiating and drafting acquisition, construction and loan documentation. He represents both landlords and tenants in negotiating and drafting commercial, office and retail leases and subleases. Steve also drafts commercial conditions, covenants and restrictions for commercial and retail projects.
Steve has experience in addressing environmental issues that arise in commercial real property transactions, including both hazardous waste and regulatory and natural resource compliance issues. He also has extensive experience in drafting conservation easements and other mitigation banking documentation.
As a corporate lawyer, Steve forms business entities for real estate development projects and other businesses. He also provides outside general counsel representation for a number of private companies. From 1993 to 2000, Steve was vice president and general counsel of a Sacramento-based national engineering and environmental services company.
