The combined experience of the attorneys in the Appeals and Writs practice group includes over 50 years of practice involving state and federal appeals and writs; as well as a successful, highly-unusual reversal of an arbitrator’s award through an appeal to a second arbitrator. Our attorneys utilize specialized expertise including experience in all forms of trial and post-trial extraordinary writs, interlocutory appeals, post trial motions and post-trial appeals.

The Civil Appellate Forum, formed by the group in 2003, offers MCLE credit and is an ongoing series of panel discussions and seminars focusing on issues relating to civil appellate practice. Past topics include "Frivolous Appeals and Other Appellate Ethical Issues," "Effective Appellate Oral Argument," and "Assessing the Chances of Success on Appeal."
