Sacramento, Calif.–Weintraub, a business law and business litigation firm, announces that Michael A. Kvarme has been elected as managing shareholder, effective January 1. Mike Kvarme will succeed Gary Bradus, who served as managing shareholder since 2007. During Mr. Bradus’ tenure, he was instrumental in the firm’s success as being the premier business law firm in the Sacramento region. “Mike is a strong and respected lawyer, a strategic thinker, and a natural leader who will help guide us through this period of transition across our profession,” says Bradus, who remains a shareholder in the firm’s Corporate practice group and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
Following two years in Washington, D.C., Kvarme began his Sacramento legal career with the Weintraub firm in 1981. He rejoined the firm in 2003 as a senior shareholder in the firm’s Real Estate and Corporate practice groups. “I am excited to be named managing shareholder of Weintraub Genshlea Chediak” said Kvarme. “Gary has been a strong leader in positioning the firm for the future while honoring our longstanding commitment to providing our clients with exemplary legal service. I will continue to build on this work while striving to effectively meet the emerging demands and needs of our clients in these challenging times.”
“We are proud to announce Mike’s election to the managing shareholder role,” said Shareholder Chris Chediak. “Mike’s dedication to both his clients and the Sacramento community closely mirrors our own and we believe his leadership and expertise will be instrumental in continuing our business growth.”
On November 19, Mayor Kevin Johnson announced that Kvarme was among other distinguished members of the Mayor’s “Dream Team” Task Force for the new entertainment and sports complex project. The ultimate objective of the Task Force is to facilitate development of a premier entertainment and sports complex that will result in job creation, cultural revitalization and broader economic and community development across the Sacramento region.
