we understand what matters most: meaningful results
Weintraub Tobin is a law firm that is a lot like our clients — energetic, driven and supportive of the communities in which we live and work.
Weintraub Tobin’s 10-week Summer Associate Program provides our Summer Associates exposure to:
Weintraub Tobin looks for second-year law students who have demonstrated academic excellence, as well as involvement in law school activities such as, but not limited to: journal contributions, externships, volunteer work, moot court, and other competition teams. We strive to hire talented individuals who demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, initiative, and creativity. We apply these same standards when recruiting and hiring Summer Associates. We want well-rounded professionals to join our firm. Our Summer Associates are engaged academically and in their community. They are eager to learn and demonstrate their eagerness through critical inquiry and independent thought. They are not afraid to ask questions and seek feedback. They embrace every opportunity to get to know the diverse individuals who make up our Firm and tackle each assignment with curiosity and tenacity.
We are proud of the diversity of skills and experience each person brings to our Firm. We deliver quality client service both externally and internally while fostering an environment that encourages collaboration and camaraderie. We encourage open and effective communication and teamwork among attorneys and staff across offices. We believe in bringing the best people together to enhance client services and to make our Firm a great place to work.
We are a team that comes together to give back to the community, as well as a team that celebrates one another’s successes both professionally and personally. We promote a culture of working hard and having fun while we do it. Our Firm is involved in various professional groups statewide (i.e. Bar Associations, ACRE, SACTO, and Barristers to name a few) making business mixers and functions readily available to attend to develop or fine-tune your networking skills.
Here are what some former summer associates have had to say about their experiences:
“The attorneys at Weintraub not only work well together, but they genuinely enjoy each other’s company. When someone refers to another attorney as “like a brother to me” they actually mean it. The attorneys are a well-rounded group and they care about their clients and each other. It doesn’t get better!”
“One of my favorite things about the firm is the large number of female partners. I felt very fortunate to be surrounded by brilliant women who are a powerful part of the firm.”
“My favorite thing about working for Weintraub is the people. Whether I was getting an assignment or grabbing coffee in the kitchen, people were always friendly and seemed genuinely interested in getting to know us summer associates. I never hesitated to ask clarifying questions or let an attorney know when I was having difficulty with an assignment. Additionally, there was just the right amount of work so that I always had projects, but not too many to juggle.”
“I really enjoyed the variety of projects, as I was able to get a project from almost every practice area and had projects that involved reviewing discovery, summarizing depositions, researching issues, drafting pleadings, and even writing an article for one of the senior Trust and Estates shareholders. If there was ever an attorney or practice area that I did not get to work with, I always knew that I could simply shoot them an e-mail or drop by their offices and they would find a project for me.”
This year we are visiting the following law schools for on-campus interviews (OCIs):
If we are not visiting your school, please feel free to submit a cover letter, resume, unofficial transcript and writing sample to: [email protected] by August 1st.
