Rachel R. Johnson
Rachel is an associate in the Firm’s Litigation practice group. As an attorney with a former professional career in science and engineering, Rachel approaches representing and counseling her clients with a technical and strategic perspective. She handles a range of matters for her clients, including breach of contract, real estate litigation, intellectual property, and joint venture/partnership disputes.
Prior to joining Weintraub, Rachel represented clients in privacy, unfair competition, and antitrust matters in federal court, obtaining eight figure settlements in high profile cases. She also has a proven track record helping clients successfully obtain and defend intellectual property rights including patents and trademarks. Before transitioning to law, she worked on large scale, complex environmental remediation and land use projects for international corporations and served as a technical advisor at the United States Department of Interior.
Rachel received her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law where she was an associate at the Entrepreneurs’ Law Clinic and obtained a High Tech Law Certificate – Corporate and Intellectual Property Specialization, with honors. She also holds an M.S. in Engineering from Stanford University where she studied the effectiveness of water and energy efficiency technologies, and a B.A.S. from University of California, Davis in Political Science and Geophysics.
A passionate runner and rock climber, Rachel has completed over 12 marathons and is training to climb the Salathé Wall on El Capitan in Yosemite National Park.
