Shawn is a Shareholder in the Firm’s Real Estate and Corporate groups.

Shawn regularly represents lenders, developers, investors, landlords, and tenants in the development, finance, purchase, leasing, and sale of real property in his real estate practice. His primary focus is representing project developers and investors, from the formation of the development entity and acquisition of property to financing and construction of the project and any resulting sale or leasing needs. Shawn also represents lenders and borrowers in all types of real estate-related loan transactions, including acquisition and development, construction, environmental remediation, and permanent financing.

Shawn has significant expertise in developing solar projects. He represents solar project developers, contractors, investors, and owners as they purchase, develop, construct and operate projects. This work regularly involves the financing and sale of solar power projects and related project entities.

Shawn’s corporate and business practice includes working with companies of all sizes, from new business start-ups and family businesses to publicly traded companies. He represents companies in company formations, sales and acquisitions, financings, and a broad array of other business transactions.

Before practicing law, Shawn was active in state politics and worked in the California State Legislature. He also served as Executive Director of the California Health Facilities Financing Authority. He enjoys hiking, shooting, fishing, dogs, food, wine, and festive gatherings.
