Scott focuses his practice on business and intellectual property litigation in both state and federal courts. His intellectual property experience includes representing clients in cases involving trademark, trade dress, and copyright infringement. His business litigation experience includes cases for misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract, ERISA, fraud, tortious interference, and tax-related contests. In addition, Scott has represented clients in disputes involving estate and trust litigation, financial/fiduciary abuse, and elder financial abuse.
Scott has extensive experience in federal court on both sides of the bench. As an associate, Scott has represented clients in jury and court trials. He has also successfully argued numerous motions, including securing a temporary restraining order in a trademark infringement case. Before joining the firm, Scott clerked for the Honorable Morrison C. England, Jr., on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California. While in law school, Scott spent a semester as a student extern for the Honorable Frank C. Damrell, Jr., also on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.
Prior to attending law school, Scott was a personal lines underwriter for a major property and casualty insurance company. He was also a Weapons Systems Officer and instructor navigator in the U.S. Air Force and the Air National Guard, flying fighter jets as well as cargo and trainer aircraft. He currently serves in the Judge Advocate General’s office of the Nevada Air National Guard, where he holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
When he’s not working or flying for the military, Scott is an avid golfer, enjoys riding motocross with his sons, playing baseball and shooting pool.
