Weintraub Tobin is pleased to announce that attorney Lizbeth “Beth” West has been elected President of the Board of Directors for TLCS, Inc. dba Hope Cooperative.
Hope Cooperative is a 40-year-old Sacramento-based non-profit public benefit corporation whose mission is to transform the lives of those living with behavioral health challenges, substance use disorders, and homelessness, by supporting their independence, promoting their housing stability, and empowering them to make positive changes in their lives. Hope Cooperative helps empower more than 8,000 people each year in Sacramento and Yolo counties.
A member of the Hope Cooperative Board since 2019 and serving most recently as its Vice President, Ms. West has said that “Homelessness is one of the most pressing challenges our region faces and it will not be solved by people merely requesting, or waiting, for the government to ‘fix it.’ Each of our homeless neighbors is a human being just like you and me and they have their own story and their own needs. I am so proud of all the great work Hope Cooperative does to help these individuals; getting to know their story and working tirelessly to get them the support they need to improve their lives and get off the streets.” Ms. West said that her goal as President of the Board is to continue to do whatever she can to support the mission and the heroes at Hope Cooperative who do the important work every day.
Ms. West is a Shareholder at Weintraub Tobin and Chair of the Firm’s Labor and Employment Group. She is admitted to practice law in California and Washington and has over 22 years of experience as an employment attorney. Ms. West counsels employers in connection with federal and state employment laws and defends employers in employment disputes. She also serves as an employment law mediator in private employment disputes and conducts independent workplace investigations. Ms. West is a regular speaker and trainer on employment law issues for various organizations in California, has been named to the Northern California Super Lawyer list each year since 2012, and has regularly been selected to the Top 25 Sacramento Super Lawyers list, the Top 50 Women Northern California Super Lawyers list, and Sacramento Magazine’s Top Lawyers list.
