WT Deals: Doug Liman Teams with Paramount to Direct New Reimagining of “The Saint”

Weintraub client and major film veteran Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) has signed on to direct Paramount’s upcoming remake of The Saint, a highly-anticipated new take on the classic 1920s book series and 1960s UK television series.

The remake will feature Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton, Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves), who will also executive produce the film. The story is rumored to be a new take on the classic adventures of Robin Hood-esque character Simon Templar, better known as “The Saint.”

Liman recently completed production on the reimagining of MGM’s classic bouncer film Road House, and is reuniting with Bourne Identity star Matt Damon on the upcoming Apple Studios film The Instigators, expected in 2024.

Liman is represented by Weintraub shareholder Alan L. Grodin.
