  • When: May 16, 2024
  • Where: Town & Country Resort, San Diego, CA

Weintraub Tobin attorneys Gary Rothstein, Kelly Dankbar, and Evan Winet will present at the 29th Annual PFAC Educational Conference in San Diego, CA.

The conference, which is held May 15-18, 2024, provides comprehensive education for professional fiduciaries. The presentation from Weintraub’s Trusts & Estates Group, titled “Maintaining Balance on A High Wire: Managing Trust Assets While Also Managing Beneficiary Expectations,” will be held on day one of the conference on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 7:15 AM. The presentation will guide the private professional fiduciary in managing assets, some of which have more of an emotional component than other assets, and how to fairly, but firmly, manage expectations of beneficiaries concerning the assets.

Gary Rothstein is a Weintraub shareholder. His practice has focused on trust administration, probate matters, and estate planning since 1993. A significant portion of Gary’s practice consists of representing corporate and individual fiduciaries and beneficiaries in all aspects of trust administration. Gary counsels numerous fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and creditors through all phases of contested and uncontested probate and trust administration proceedings in Northern and Southern California Probate Courts, including prosecution of will and trust contests, preparation and arguing of petitions for instructions, petitions for construction of trusts, and petitions for termination of trusts.

Kelly E. Dankbar is a Weintraub shareholder and litigator. Kelly combines her litigation experience with a thorough knowledge of probate law to help her clients resolve a wide range of trust and probate disputes, including elder financial abuse claims, contested conservatorships, will and trust contests, contested accountings, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and other contested and uncontested matters involving the administration of trusts and estates. She is the previous Chair of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the Sacramento County Bar Association, and regularly speaks on trust and estates litigation and elder financial abuse issues. She has been a panelist for continuing legal education programs for CEB, NBI, Legal Services of Northern California, and the Placer County Bar Association.

Evan D. Winet is Of Counsel in Weintraub Tobin’s Trusts & Estates Litigation practice group. He represents beneficiaries and fiduciaries in all aspects of trusts and estates litigation, including trust and will contests, actions involving recovery of property related to a trust or estate, financial elder abuse actions, fiduciary litigation, conservatorships, guardianships, and heirship proceedings. Evan speaks and publishes frequently on topics relating to trusts and estates litigation and is an annual update editor of the California Trust and Probate Litigation Practice Guide (published by CEB). He is a member of the Incapacity Committee of the Trusts and Estates Executive Committee for the California Bar (TEXCOM).
