Matt Sugarman is a shareholder at Weintraub Tobin and member of the Firm’s Entertainment & Media practice group. He represents authors, screenwriters, producers, and directors in cutting-edge deals. His recent negotiations have helped bring best-selling novels, series, and comics to the screen through adaptations with major film and television production houses, including the T.V. adaptations of New York Times bestselling series book series “Fourth Wing,” “Dungeon Crawler Carl,” and “Eragon,” as well as the T.V. adaptation of the critically acclaimed “Barbaric” comic series. He also negotiated the Oscar-nominated 2024 film adaptation of client Nate Stevenson’s best-selling book, “Nimona.”
