Honoring Hispanic Heritage Month: Devinn Martin on Her Journey as a Latina Attorney
Published: October 14, 2026
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we recently sat down with Weintraub associate Devinn Martin from the Firm’s Real Estate group to learn more about her journey as a Latina attorney. She spoke about the values her family instilled in her, how those values show up in her work with clients, and her message to the next generation of Latino lawyers.

Devinn’s heritage has given her an appreciation for her opportunities and the family who paved the way. “My family’s sacrifices and the values they passed down to me as a Latina taught me that every opportunity carries a responsibility to the people who made it possible.” This sense of responsibility carries into her work with clients. “In my practice, I know that behind every deal is a family, a business, or a community investing in its future. That perspective shapes how I listen to, understand, and support my clients.” Perspectives like hers allow Weintraub to understand and serve a diverse range of clients.
Devinn also spoke about the many stories within Hispanic and Latino communities. “The Hispanic and Latino community is not one single story,” she said. “Some of our families have been here for generations, and others arrived recently, but we’re connected by faith, family, hard work, and a deep sense of community. I hope people see not only our resilience but also our contributions, our generosity, and the joy we bring to every space we enter.” Her words capture what Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates: the diversity within communities and the strength that diversity brings.
Looking ahead, Devinn is passionate about opening doors for the next generation of attorneys, especially students who may not yet see themselves represented in the field. Her advice for Latino students considering a legal career: “You belong here. Never having seen someone like you in a classroom, courtroom, or conference room doesn’t mean there’s no place for you. Someone has to be the first, and there is no reason it can’t be you.”
Devinn represents clients in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, leases, and development-related documents, as well as handling closings and conducting title review. She earned her law degree from McGeorge School of Law, where she served as a law review writer and editor and as a judicial extern for the Honorable Morrison J. England of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California, and received her undergraduate degree in Philosophy from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Devinn is an active member of the legal and real estate communities, serving as Treasurer of the Sacramento County Bar Association’s (SCBA) Real Property Section, as a selection committee member for the SCBA’s Diversity Fellowship program, and as a member of the Urban Land Institute’s Young Leaders Group.
