Entertainment Attorney Shaun Gordon Elevated to Partner at Weintraub Tobin

Shaun joined the Entertainment & Media practice group in 2018, where he has developed a diverse client roster of producers, production companies, writers, authors, and talent. He has developed a particular expertise in podcast dealmaking, representing podcast producers and podcast talent in transactions with iHeartMedia, Audible, Spotify, NPR, and other established and emerging players in the audio space.

Some of Shaun’s clients include Guy Raz (host of “How I Built This”), At Will Media (creator/producer of “Wild Things” with Apple), Simone Finch (creator of “Single Drunk Female” for Freeform; who Shaun represents with Matt Sugarman), Western Sound (creator/producer of “Lost Hills” with Dana Goodyear and Pushkin), Ace Entertainment (producer of “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” trilogy), Melissa Moore (creator/host of “Happy Face” with IHM, optioned by CBS), and Treefort Media (creator/producer of “Killer Psyche” with Wondery), novelists/screenwriters Lauren Wilkinson, Maria Semple, and Hillary Jordan; and creators Ranz Kyle, Niana Guerrero, Jenny Lorenzo, and Mikey Murphy.

“Shaun saw the opportunity in the audio space early on and built his practice alongside the development of the podcast industry,” said Weintraub Entertainment Chair Wayne Kazan. “His depth of experience in podcast dealmaking is exceptional and serves his clients extremely well.”

Shaun earned his J.D from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law after completing a B.S. at the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business.  He was named to Variety’s Legal Impact Report in 2021.
