Jacqueline Simonovich Elected Diversity Director for Barristers Board of BASF

Weintraub Tobin attorney Jacqueline Simonovich has been elected as the Diversity Director for the Barristers Board of the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF).  The Diversity Director leads the Barristers Diversity & Inclusion Committee and spearheads the planning and execution of the Barristers annual Diversity Conference and Awards.

Jacqueline has served on the Diversity & Inclusion Committee for two years and is also a member of the Barristers Litigation Section Executive Committee. Her work and writing have been featured in Law360 and San Francisco Attorney Magazine in articles discussing DEI in the legal profession.

In November 2022, Jacqueline was honored as a recipient of the 2022 Minority Bar Coalition Unity Awards. The annual awards recognize leaders from member organizations of the Minority Bar Coalition for exemplary service in promoting the cause of diversity in the legal profession and community.

“Diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts have to move past the status of extracurricular in law firms,” said Jacqueline. “This requires concentrated, meaningful, continued actions backed by policies and practices that treat diversity as a core value, not an option. I look forward to working with the Barristers Board to further BASF’s efforts to expand diversity in our workplaces and communities.”

Jacqueline is an associate in the Firm’s Litigation practice group, and regularly defends businesses facing litigation in California state and Federal courts. She handles a wide range of issues for clients, including contractual, real estate, and tort disputes, as well as constitutional issues. Prior to getting her law degree at UC Berkeley, Jacqueline obtained an M.A. in Humanities and Social Thought at NYU.
