Jessica Corpuz on CBS News: Plaintiff Who Sued Gwyneth Paltrow Could Owe Big Bucks in Legal Fees

In an interview with CBS News on April 3rd, Megan Cerullo spoke with Weintraub shareholder Jessica Corpuz about the case against actress Gwyneth Paltrow regarding her involvement in a 2016 ski crash.

The plaintiff sued the actress for $300,000 after he claims she crashed into him on a ski slope in 2016, causing him several injuries. She then countersued him for $1 and asked that he cover her legal fees. A jury sided with the actress last week and awarded her $1, however they have yet to decide if he is liable to cover her attorney fees.

Jessica Corpuz says while Paltrow won her case, it doesn’t mean the plaintiff acted in bad faith when he first filed his lawsuit.

“She now has the burden to prove that he filed this in bad faith — that he knew he didn’t have any grounds, that it was frivolous.”
