As a shareholder in the Litigation department, Jessica Corpuz handles complex commercial disputes, emphasizing entertainment and intellectual property litigation. 

She has successfully represented clients in trial, mediation, arbitration, and appeal, including millions of dollars in jury verdicts as well as published reversals of adverse trial court rulings on appeal.

Over the course of her career, Jessica has litigated cases in the fields of entertainment, international law, private equity and corporate transactions, breach of contract, and fraud, among others.  She handles cases on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants and has appeared before federal and state courts across the country.

Some of Jessica’s representative matters include:

  • Disputes relating to film and television distribution agreements;
  • Licensing disputes, including entertainment and manufacturing licenses;
  • Representation of social media influencers and content producers in connection with copyright issues, endorsement agreements, and digital media transactions;
  • Private equity transactions, including issues in connection with the acquisition and sale of portfolio companies;
  • Numerous breach of contract and fraud claims, resulting in the recovery of millions of dollars in settlements and judgments for Jessica’s clients, and
  • Complex judgment collection, including a $21 million jury verdict for claims of alter ego and fraudulent conveyance and the collection of international assets frozen under federal sanctions programs.

Jessica also gives presentations on civil procedure and trial strategy and writes for the Intellectual Property Law Blog. She has been selected to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list from 2014-2020.

Outside of the office, Jessica volunteers her time to teach classes in financial literacy and criminal record expungement to people in transitional housing through LA Family Housing.  She is also an active member of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and the Los Angeles Conservancy.

Jessica earned her B.A. in History from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She received her J.D. from Loyola Law School, where she was the President of the International Law Society and participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.
