Jon is an associate in the Firm’s Corporate practice group. He focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, emerging companies and venture capital, and other corporate and securities law matters.
Jon represents clients in many industries and at every stage of the business cycle, from large international corporations, to nonprofits, to brand new startups and their founders. He advises clients on entity formation, financing transactions, acquisitions, licensing deals, commercial transactions, and countless other business and legal scenarios. Jon has experience representing venture capital and private equity clients, as well as the companies they invest in and acquire.
Jon began his career as a summer associate and then associate with Weintraub, and later returned after practicing at the Silicon Valley office of a major international law firm.
He received his J.D. from Berkeley Law, where he clerked with the California Attorney General’s Office, and later the Department of Agriculture (USDA). In law school, Jon was also selected as a teaching assistant in the legal writing department, volunteered with the Workers’ Rights Disability Law Clinic, and competed in the Halloum Negotiations Competition.
During and after undergrad, Jon volunteered with Bet Tzedek Legal Services in Los Angeles, running clinics in courthouses across the county, where he helped hundreds of low-income families obtain conservatorships for disabled adult children and other relatives. He received his B.S. in Music Industry from USC, where he performed with ensembles in the Thornton School of Music and the Spirit of Troy, the self-proclaimed “Greatest Marching Band in the History of the Universe.”
In his free time, Jon enjoys hiking and fishing in the Sierras, music, sports, and spending time with his wife and their two daughters.
