Experience

Sonia is an associate in the Firm’s Litigation practice group, representing individuals and businesses across all stages litigation, with a focus on entertainment, sports, and business disputes. 

Sonia’s practice focuses on representing individuals and businesses in entertainment, sports, and business disputes across all stages of litigation. She is a zealous advocate for her clients–negotiating favorable settlements, performing complex legal research, and managing and executing strategic fact investigations, discovery, and law and motion processes. Sonia has appeared on behalf of her clients throughout all stages of litigation, from routine court hearings through alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediation and arbitration, through trial and appeal. 

Sonia’s background combines legal, entertainment, and media experience across civil litigation, compliance advising, and transactional entertainment matters. Prior to joining the Firm, she practiced within broad civil defense environments, with experience in cannabis law, sports law, and insurance defense. In this capacity, Sonia provided civil defense representation through adversarial proceedings, as well as provided compliance and risk mitigation advice, to cannabis companies, ski and snowboard resorts, and businesses ranging from local businesses to corporations. 

Prior to law school, Sonia worked in production and marketing across film, news, visual arts, and print media. She gained studio-side experience in distribution and business & legal affairs and worked in music and sports journalism, as well as marketing and public relations for live events. Her diverse background provides practical industry insight that informs her representation of clients in entertainment and business disputes. 

Sonia earned her J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where she was a member of the Entertainment and Sports Law Society, Women in Entertainment Law Society, and Sports Law Association. She also served as Secretary of the Loyola Law School Surf and Ski Club. 

Outside of her legal work, Sonia enjoys snowboarding, attending live music events, cheering on the Los Angeles Rams, and spending time with her dog.
