Uri Grant is a shareholder in the Firm’s Trusts and Estates Practice Group, where he specializes in trusts & estates litigation.
Uri’s practice is dedicated to assisting beneficiaries, trustees, conservators, and professional fiduciaries with the legal and practical challenges that arise in probate, trust, and conservatorship disputes. His practice is tailored to find effective resolutions within his clients’ budgets while achieving their goals.
A lifelong resident of the Greater Sacramento region, Uri earned his bachelor’s degree from the California State University, Sacramento and earned his J.D. from McGeorge School of Law. During law school, Uri participated on the mock trial team and served as an editor for the school’s Law Review Journal.
After earning his law degree, Uri began his career as a Deputy District Attorney in San Joaquin County and later in El Dorado County, where he prosecuted a wide range of felony and misdemeanor matters, including domestic violence, elder abuse, and child abuse cases. Drawing on his experience as a prosecutor, Uri brings extensive trial and negotiation skills to resolving even the most complex trust and probate disputes. His background as both a negotiator and a seasoned trial attorney allows him to advocate effectively for his clients at every stage of litigation, addressing all facets of their legal needs with skill and precision.
Outside the office, Uri enjoys discovering new restaurants with his wife, spending time with their two Huskies, and playing chess.
Uri is fluent in both English and Russian.
Successfully prosecuted a trustee who refused to distribute a beneficiary’s share from a $350 million estate.
Successfully contested a will that attempted to disinherit an entire family, except one parent, from a $20 million estate.
After a three-day trial, successfully proved that an adopted child was the rightful heir to his biological father’s $750,000 estate.
Successfully defended his client against a trust contest and alleged financial elder abuse, in which the petitioner sought to obtain a $1.9 million judgment.
In a one-day trial, successfully removed a co-trustee who refused to administer a $4 million estate, and Uri assisted his client in administering the trust.
