Weintraub Tobin Names Jennel Fernandez as Chief Administrative Officer

Weintraub Tobin is pleased to announce that Jennel Fernandez has been named Chief Administrative Officer of the Firm. As CAO, Jennel will dedicate her time, skills, and experience to improving firmwide operational efficiency and to supporting the leadership priorities of the Firm’s Managing Board. An eleven-year member of Weintraub’s administrative team, Jennel most recently served as Director of Human Resources.

Gary Waldron Named to 2024 Southern California Super Lawyers

Weintraub Tobin is pleased to announce that Gary A. Waldron has been selected to the 2024 Southern California Super Lawyers© list. Each year, no more than five percent of lawyers in the state are selected to receive this honor by the research team at Super Lawyers.

WT Clients: Concordia Studio and Jonathan King Win at the 2023 Creative Arts Emmys

Weintraub clients Concordia Studio and Jonathan King were among the winners at the 2023 Creative Arts Emmys, held January 6-7, 2024 in Los Angeles.

The documentary Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, an Apple Original film produced in association with Concordia Studio, took home four awards, including Outstanding Directing, Outstanding Music Composition, Outstanding Narrator, and Outstanding Documentary Or Nonfiction Special. Producer Jonathan King is among the team for Outstanding Documentary.

Weintraub Supports Barristers Club Diversity Conference 2023

Weintraub was proud to support the 2023 Barristers Club Diversity Conference, “Defending Diversity!” The two-day event was presented by the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Barristers Club Diversity and Inclusion Committee and aimed to deepen awareness around racial equity and inclusion efforts within the legal industry. 

WT Deals: Treefort Media to Produce Podcast, ‘Big Envelopes’ for Audible

Weintraub client Treefort Media will produce a satirical podcast for Audible about the college admissions industry called Big Envelopes. The 6-part series was created by Aaron and Will Eisenberg, who will also serve as executive producers. Abbi Jacobson from A League of Their Own, Whitney Peak from Gossip Girl, Susie Essman from Curb Your Enthusiasm, Judy Greer from Archer, Timothy Simons from Veep, Aaron Taylor Jennings from Grand Crew, and The Sklar Brothers from Dumb People Town will star in the comedy series.

WT Wins: David A. Diepenbrock Instrumental In Helping Client Secure $58.5 Million Settlement

On October 4, 2023, Sacramento County settled a long-running civil rights lawsuit brought by Hardesty Sand & Gravel for $58.5 million. The landmark settlement falls on the heels of a $20 million settlement in a related suit brought by the owners of the ranch where Hardesty Sand & Gravel had mined for decades until Sacramento County unlawfully ordered Hardesty to shutter the mining operation.
