On February 20th, Brendan J. Begley presented Don’t Get SLAPPed Around in Family Court! How to Recognize and Handle SLAPP Issues in Family-Law Cases for the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists (ACFLS.) Brendan is an Appellate Law Specialist certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.
On December 11, Weintraub shareholder Shauna Correia presented Workplace Safety and CalOSHA Requirements at the SHRM NorCal New Year New Laws: California 2025 Legal & Compliance Program in Concord, where she provided insight on the latest new OSHA, CalOSHA, and other California workplace safety laws and regulations taking effect in the new year. The event brought top-tier employment law attorneys to guide attendees through new laws and regulations taking effect from January 1, 2025, and beyond.
On November 14th, The Hollywood Radio & Television Society (HRTS) presented an informative MCLE webinar, HRTS Unscripted: The Impact of Generative AI on Nonfiction. Weintraub shareholder Scott Hervey will moderate a panel discussion about the ethical, legal, and business impacts of generative AI on the fields of nonfiction, reality, documentary, and archival work. Panelists include experts in the AI and entertainment industries.
On November 7, Weintraub shareholder Lukas Clary presented HR Legal Updates at the Central Valley Business Expo in Modesto, where he will provide insight on several new laws that businesses should be aware of heading into the new year. The event, which aims to foster growth and collaboration, brings together a diverse array of industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals.
Lukas’ presentation will take place during breakout educational session #3 in room 4 from 2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

On October 22, Weintraub shareholder Gary D. Rothstein will give a presentation on “Performing Due Diligence in New Trust Intake” to California and Nevada members of the Private Wealth Management (PWM) team of a national bank. The presentation aims to help to educate fiduciaries and financial advisors on important steps that need to be taken to help reduce liability when intaking new trusts, including key provisions to review in the trust document and other factors to consider such as beneficiaries and trust assets.
On October 17th and 18th, The Bar Association of San Francisco’s Barristers Club Diversity and Inclusion Committee presented the Diversity Conference 2024.
The 2024 Diversity Conference theme was “Defending Democracy.” The conference included five sessions over two days and sought to deepen awareness and engagement around racial equity and inclusion efforts in the legal industry and society. This conference included multiple thought-provoking panels, prominent guest speakers, and more.
On October 1st, Weintraub shareholder Ryan Abernethy hosted the seminar Legal Updates and Trends in Employment Law at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) NorCal Conference in San Francisco.
