Weintraub client Zosia Mamet has joined the cast of HBO’s Industry for its upcoming fifth and final season.

Mamet will play Carmen Dame, a fitness influencer turned wellness tech founder and CEO. Filming for the eight-episode season is set to begin in August in the United Kingdom.

WT Clients: Apple TV Acquires Rights to Rebecca Yarros’ Upcoming Novel “Peculiar Stars”

Apple TV has acquired the rights to Peculiar Stars, the upcoming romance novel from Weintraub client and bestselling author Rebecca Yarros. Apple Studios will develop the novel as a television series, with Yarros serving as an executive producer through her production company, Full Measures Productions.

Set to be published on November 17, 2026, Peculiar Stars follows a young woman who becomes stranded on a deserted island with a member of her fiancé’s family. After they are rescued, the pair must return to a world of privilege, expectations, and secrets.

EEOC Votes on Proposed Rule to End EEO-1 Reporting

As we indicated in our June 4, 2026 article, certain employers may soon be relieved of the obligation to file EEO-1 Reports, as well as other reports (“EEO Data Reports”), with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”). On July 21, 2026, the EEOC voted 2-1 to issue a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to end the long-required demographic data collection and reporting by covered employers. Currently covered employers are required to file annual reports with the EEOC summarizing aggregate data on their employees’ race and sex to assist in evaluating potential discriminatory practices under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.

Magic Hour Entertainment, the newly formed production company led by Max Siemers and Tanner Anderson, is set to adapt Christina Lauren’s bestselling romance novel, Love and Other Words, as a feature film.

The story follows childhood best friends turned first loves who reconnect more than a decade later and are forced to confront the heartbreak that separated them. Magic Hour Entertainment will produce and finance the film’s development.
