Practice Areas

Meagan Christiansen is an associate of the Labor and Employment and Litigation groups where she exclusively practices employment law and related litigation in both state and federal courts, and before various administrative agencies. Additionally, she provides advice and counsel to employers concerning their workplace policies, practices, and personnel decisions.

Meagan regularly defends employers against employment claims for breach of contract, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, unfair business practices, violation of wage and hour laws, as well as numerous other tort and statutory employment law causes of action. Substantive areas of expertise include California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), Title VII, the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the California Labor Code.

Prior to joining Weintraub Genshlea Chediak in 2010, Meagan worked for a Sacramento-based boutique law firm specializing in all aspects of labor and employment law. Meagan also worked in the Washington DC office of a large worldwide law firm as a member of its litigation group after receiving her J.D.

Meagan earned her J.D. from the American University, Washington College of Law, in 2005, where she was a member of the Journal of Gender, Social Policy, and the Law and acted as student attorney in the school’s Civil Practice Clinic. Meagan earned her B.A. in Law and Society, with Distinction and Highest Honors, from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2001.
