Professional Experience
Scott M. Plamondon is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property, Litigation and Labor and Employment groups. Prior to joining Weintraub Genshlea Chediak, Mr. Plamondon previously served as Senior Counsel with PMC-Sierra, Inc., an internet and communications infrastructure semiconductor solution provider developing next generation semiconductor technology. As PMC-Sierra’s Senior Counsel, he primarily negotiated and drafted customer and supplier master purchase agreements as well as inbound and outbound intellectual property licenses
Prior to working at PMC-Sierra, Scott was a partner with Berry & Block LLP where he represented clients in contract and employment, business, and intellectual property related matters including litigation and transactions. While at Berry & Block he worked on cases heard by state and federal courts of appeal, as well as the California Supreme Court.
Scott earned his J.D. degree with a certificate in Intellectual Property and High Tech Law at Santa Clara University School of Law. While in law school, he served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Ronald M. Whyte in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. While working in Judge Whyte’s chambers he assisted the court with cases such as eBay v. Bidder’s Edge, Sun v. Microsoft, and Applied Materials v. Varian Systems. Prior to working in the federal court, Scott worked for Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher LLP where he primarily provided legal support to Intel Corporation.
Scott earned his B.S. degree with honors in International Business Management from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. He studied mergers and acquisitions, global strategy and law, and international joint ventures.
Scott is an active member of Intellectual Property and Antitrust & Unfair Competition Sections of the California State Bar and the Intellectual Property Section of the Sacramento County Bar, and is a member of the Trade Secret Committee of the California State Bar.
